~Pictorial Tour of Nozbe GTD – Calendar

Moving along to Part IV of our tour, we’ll take a look at the Calendar.  By the way, if you missed any of the other posts, you can find them on the Nozbe Tour page, or use the links at the top of this page to move forward or back in the tour.

The Calendar provides a view of your dated tasks in chronological order, and provides a detailed view of your upcoming tasks 7, 30 or 90 days out.  Overdue tasks will be at the top of the list in the Past Due section, with their original due date highlighted in red to make them easily identifiable.

What Can You Do In Calendar?

You can do all of the same things with your tasks in the Calendar, as provided in the other Nozbe screens, and I’ll repeat them in this list, along with the other Calendar specific features for convenience.

  • Use the links at the top of the page to email your calendar to others, subscribe to a feed or use the  ical link to feed tasks into other supported calendar applications.
  • Use the links at the top of the Calendar to display the next 7, 30 or 90 days.
  • Edit a task by double clicking anywhere in the task, or by clicking the edit button. Here you can change the task text, date, context and even move the task to a different project if needed.
  • Move a task to another date by clicking and dragging with the hand button, available at the far left when you hover over a task.
  • Delete a task by clicking on the X.
  • Change the date and time associated with the task.
  • Check the task as completed.
  • Click the star to add the task to the Next Actions list.

Moving Actions To Another Date

You can use the hand tool, to drag a task within the current date, or even to another date.  Just point to the task you want to move, click and drag with the hand tool to the position or date desired.

Using iCal to Show Your Actions in Another Calendar

Want to see your actions with other events in your regular calendar application?  If you’re using Google, Apple Mail or another iCal compatible calendar you can.

Use the iCal link at the top of the Calendar screen to access the iCal subscription link.  Just copy this link and paste it into the iCal subscription area in your mail application.  Your dated actions in Nozbe will automatically update in your calendar when you add or modify them in Nozbe.  Way Cool!

Import Nozbe Actions into Your Other Calendars

Well, that covers the Calendar, and completes the main screens in Nozbe – Next Actions, Projects, Contexts and Calendar.  But wait, there is more.  Next post, we’ll be taking a close look at iNozbe, the companion web app created just for the iPhone.  Thanks for reading, John.
